The nineties saw an enormous boom in the field of ERP i.e. enterprise resource planning software. Companies expected that the implementation of ERP software (like SAP R/3)  that integrates the transaction processing in area’s like production, logistics and accounting, would satisfy the information needs. The myth of ERP is that people thought that combining all information flows in a single system was the panacea for all their management ills. They have had a rude awakening.

NewFrontiers recognized the shortcoming of ERP software as a practical source for management information at a very early stage.
