Project Control

This QuickStart enables rapid business analysis for a range of end-user analysts: Project Controllers and Senior Management.

Data is extracted from the following SAP R/3 modules: FI (Finance) and CO (Controlling)

Business Analysis

The Project Control QuickStart enables detailed analysis of part of the Project Management process, taking a broader perspective than that provided by Job Order analysis alone. Projects are used to manage the costs of specific activities or tasks within a specific period of time. The difference between job orders and projects is subjective however as a rule of thumb you could say that projects are typically more complex than job orders (e.g. a major building program). The expenses on projects are often "capitalized" on completion (that is, transferred to the balance sheet and reported as fixed assets and written off in time). Project budgets are obviously controlled by a project manager but are also often directly approved by senior management of organisations. The project Control QuickStart sources from the SAP solution for projects called Work Breakdown Structures (wbs) with the focus on spending analysis.

The types of analysis which can be performed include:

  • Analysis of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Spending forecast.
  • Budget & Budget Variance.
